2024 Projects:

Jars of Hope
Volunteers joined the Greenheart Service Committee to fill 650 jars with the donated ingredients, fostering a strong sense of community and teamwork that the learners thoroughly enjoyed. All jars were donated to Pholoho Special School.

Squares of Love Project
Learners, parents and staff donated crochet squares and on Nelson Mandela Day, volunteers had the opportunity to come together to layout and assemble the squares into blankets. 
The blankets were donated to the War Museum, in collaborating with Ons Kinderhuis orphanage. 

Santa Shoeboxes
Eunice supports the Santa Shoebox initiative each year and this year, we donated 140 completed boxes to Angel Arms 

Bake & Donate
The learners and staff enjoyed showcasing their creativity by baking and donating 120 beautiful cupcakes to raise funds directed towards supporting our outreach initiatives.

Marketplace sales
The monthly marketplace sales continue to serve as an excellent avenue for Greenheart Service to generate funds in support of the various organisations we extend assistance to.

Bloemshelter Pancake Friday
The highly anticipated Bloemshelter Pancake Fridays have become a beloved tradition at Eunice. Eunice learners and staff eagerly order pancakes baked by the Bloemshelter residents and all proceeds go towards supporting Bloemshelter.

Casual Day
Learners enthusiastically embraced the theme, “I See You”, dressing up in as many vibrant colours as possible to support the cause. All funds raised were donated to Pholoho Special School.

Reach for a Dream Slipper Day
Eunice showcased an array of slippers in all shapes and colours. All funds raised were donated to Reach For A Dream.

CANSA Shavathon
197 Learners and various staff members supported the CANSA Shavathon fundraiser.

OUTREACHES

Bayswater Care
The entire school community took hands in donating essential items, which were greatly needed by the residents.  During our visits, our aim was to spend quality time with the elderly and to assist with chores.

Bloemshelter
We contributed clothing items and handbags, engaged in bracelet-making as part of a new shelter project, and participated in cookie-making activities. We helped prepare pumpkins and cabbages, distributed soup and bread, and learned about the residents’ efforts to gain independence.

Huistoe Animal Welfare
During our outreach initiatives at Huistoe Animal Welfare, we engaged with the dogs and learned about the organisation’s daily operations. Throughout the year, we contributed a total of 120 kg of dog food, deworming tablets, and blankets to support the animals.

Sunflower House
Volunteers from Eunice visited Sunflower House once a term this year. Learners assisted staff with various tasks and spent quality time with children.
