MATRICULANT OF THE YEAR
Kiara Subramanian was announced as a Top 14 finalist in the 44th annual Matriculant of the Year competition!
This prestigious event is just around the corner and the 14 finalists will be judged from 13-15 October at the Monte Bello Estate.
The criteria include academic achievements, leadership, as well as participation in sport, cultural activities and community involvement.
These achievements of the 14 candidates secured them a place in the Top 25 and finally in the Top 14 of the competition, but none of these achievements will be taken into consideration during the final round.
The finalists will be judged individually and in groups over the two days and the winner will be announced at the gala dinner on Tuesday evening.
The competition is hosted in a partnership between the UFS and Netwerk24/Volksblad.
Various sponsors contribute towards their prizes.
The Top 14 each receive R12 000 prize money by being a finalist in the final round as well as a R10 000 bursary from Kovsies upon registering at the UFS for 2026.
